Biden’s Former Aide to Testify in House Republicans’ Investigation of Cognitive Declare Speculations

Joe Biden’s long-term advisor, Bruce Reed, is slated to undergo a transcribed interview in the House Republicans’ investigation concerning potential cognitive decline and any attempts to mask it from public view.

Scheduled for Tuesday before the House Oversight Committee, Reed joins a growing list of Biden White House officials participating in this Republican-led probe. He is the first of two top former advisors set to appear this week, with Anita Dunn, previously the senior adviser to the president for communications, scheduled for Thursday.

The committee anticipates additional voluntary interviews in the near future as well. During Biden’s administration, Reed played a significant role in shaping the domestic policy agenda within the White House and contributed to preparations for the presidential debate against Donald Trump, an event infamously detrimental to Biden that ultimately led to his withdrawal from the race.

Over the past few weeks, the panel has conducted interviews with various former Biden officials, ranging from cooperative encounters to more resistant ones. Last week saw Steve Ricchetti, a former counselor to the president, and Mike Donilon, a previous senior adviser, willingly participate in transcribed interviews. Other individuals have been issued subpoenas to appear.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor, White House physician; Anthony Bernal, former assistant to the president and senior advisor to the first lady; and Annie Tomasini, former assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff, have all invoked their Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination when compelled to testify.
