Dean Cain Joins US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Amidst Trump’s Immigration Crackdown

Actor Dean Cain, famously known for his portrayal of Superman in the 1990s television series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” has announced his decision to join the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. This move signifies Cain’s support for President Donald Trump’s immigration policy.

In an interview with Fox News, Cain disclosed that he was inspired to join ICE after sharing one of their recruitment videos on social media. He further stated that he will be sworn in as an ICE agent soon.

When asked about his motivation, the conservative Hollywood figure expressed a belief in standing up for what is right, regardless of popular opinion. Cain criticized the current immigration system as broken and called for Congress to address it. However, until then, he supports Trump’s efforts and believes they align with what voters wanted.

Cain’s public commitment to ICE comes at a time when immigration enforcement by the agency has significantly increased nationwide, with hundreds of immigrants being apprehended daily.

However, a CNN analysis of ICE data reveals a disparity in where these arrests occur, depending on the political leanings of the state. In states that voted for Trump, ICE primarily arrests immigrants from prisons and jails. On the other hand, in Democratic-leaning states, ICE often conducts arrests at worksites, streets, and mass roundups, which have sparked protests and controversy in cities like Los Angeles. Most of those arrested do not have a criminal record.

The data shows that ICE is making more arrests in red states than blue states, both within the community and particularly in prisons and jails.
