Three Dead in Target Parking Lot Shooting Incident in Austin, Texas: Suspect Apprehended After Crime Spree
In Austin, Texas, three individuals lost their lives following a shooting incident in a Target parking lot, as confirmed by authorities.
The police were dispatched at 2:15 PM local time and arrived within four minutes to the scene, where they discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds in the Target parking lot. According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, two of the victims succumbed to their injuries on the spot, while a third died later at the hospital.
In addition, a fourth individual sustained non-gunshot related injuries and was treated accordingly.
The suspect, who has a documented mental health history and criminal background, fled the scene in a stolen vehicle before crashing it and hijacking a Volkswagen from a dealership, as per Davis’ statement. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear at this time.
Authorities have yet to release any information regarding the victims. The suspect was apprehended in south Austin after being subdued with a taser, as reported by Davis.
