Life’s Origin on Earth Remains a Puzzle for Scientists

The question of how life began on Earth continues to baffle scientists worldwide, as they delve deeper into the mystery. After interviewing numerous experts in the field, it has become evident that the presence of abundant water on our planet plays a significant role in the genesis of life, either in deep-sea hydrothermal vents or tidal pools.

This revelation has led some scientists to also investigate the possibility of life in so-called ‘water worlds’ within our solar system, such as certain moons orbiting Jupiter and Saturn. In this feature, we delve into two water-related hypotheses regarding the origin of life on Earth, and explore the potential implications for extraterrestrial life forms.
