Air Canada Flights Resume After Strike Ended by CIRB at Minister Patty Hajdu’s Directive

After an intervention from Canada’s Labour Minister Patty Hajdu, Air Canada announced its intent to reinitiate flights on Sunday. The Canadian Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) enforced this decision, mandating Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge flight attendants to return to their duties by 2 p.m. ET (6 p.m. GMT).

The strike that had grounded over 700 flights came to a halt following months of contract negotiations between the airline and its flight attendants, marking the first walkout since 1985. This story is still evolving and will be updated as more information becomes available.
