Ketamine Queen Jasveen Sangha Pleads Guilty in Matthew Perry’s Overdose Death
In a significant development, the individual known as the “Ketamine Queen” has agreed to plead guilty to charges related to the distribution of ketamine that led to the death of Matthew Perry. This marks the conclusion of legal proceedings against all defendants implicated in the actor’s overdose.
Jasveen Sangha, a dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom, will plead guilty to five federal criminal charges, including providing the ketamine that resulted in Perry’s demise. The announcement was made by federal prosecutors in a statement.
Sangha, aged 42, has been cast as a prolific drug dealer, with the moniker “Ketamine Queen” frequently appearing in press releases, court documents, and even the official title of the case. She will plead guilty to one count of maintaining a premises used for distributing drugs, three counts of ketamine distribution, and one count of ketamine distribution resulting in death or serious bodily injury.
Mark Geragos, Sangha’s attorney, stated to CNN that his client is accepting responsibility for her actions. The plea agreement reveals that she sold four vials of ketamine to Cody McLaury, who passed away from an overdose in 2019, unrelated to Perry’s case.
Prosecutors have agreed to drop three counts related to ketamine distribution and one count of methamphetamine distribution that were not associated with the Perry case. Sangha will officially plead guilty at a future hearing, where sentencing will be scheduled. She faces up to 45 years in prison.
Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who also struck a plea deal on June 16, was among the primary targets of the investigation alongside Sangha. Three other defendants— Dr. Mark Chavez, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Erik Fleming — had agreed to plead guilty last year in exchange for their cooperation, which included statements implicating Sangha and Plasencia.
Perry was found deceased at his Los Angeles residence on October 28, 2023. The medical examiner determined that ketamine, a surgical anesthetic, was the primary cause of death. Perry had been using ketamine as a legal, off-label treatment for depression, with his usage increasing beyond what his regular doctor was willing to prescribe.
He began obtaining ketamine from Plasencia about a month before his passing and subsequently from Sangha two weeks prior. The deals were facilitated by Fleming, who introduced Perry to Sangha.
In their plea agreements, both Fleming and Iwamasa provided detailed accounts of these transactions. Fleming described Sangha’s ketamine as “unmarked but amazing,” while stating that she only deals with high-end clients and celebrities. With Fleming and Iwamasa acting as intermediaries, Perry purchased substantial quantities of ketamine from Sangha, including 25 vials for $6,000 in cash four days before his death, which included the lethal doses.
On the day of Perry’s death, Sangha told Fleming they should delete all their messages, as per her indictment. Her North Hollywood home was raided by Drug Enforcement Administration agents in March 2024, resulting in the discovery of large amounts of methamphetamine and ketamine. She was indicted that June, arrested that August, and has been held in jail since.
Sentencing for all defendants is yet to be scheduled. Perry grappled with addiction for years, with his struggles beginning during his time on “Friends,” where he gained fame as Chandler Bing alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004.
