Powerball Jackpot Soars to an Estimated $643 Million: Largest Prize Since May 2021, With Sales Up by 40% Year-Over-Year

The Powerball jackpot has soared to an estimated $643 million after Monday night’s drawing, making it the 13th largest prize in the lottery’s history and surpassing the previous high of $605 million from Monday. With no winner since May 31, this marks the largest jackpot of 2025 thus far.

According to preliminary data from the Multi-State Lottery Association, sales for Powerball tickets have increased by 40% compared to the same period last year. The association anticipates ticket sales will continue to rise as the jackpot escalates.

Despite the increase in both jackpot size and ticket sales, the odds of winning the top prize remain unchanged at approximately 1 in 292 million. If a winner emerges in the upcoming drawing, they can opt for either annual payments equivalent to the jackpot amount or a one-time cash payment of roughly $290 million.

The next drawing is scheduled for 10:59 p.m. on Wednesday.
