Multiple Fatalities Reported After Tour Bus Crash Near Niagara Falls; Interstate 90 Closed in Both Directions

A deadly accident involving a tour bus carrying approximately 50 passengers occurred Friday en route to New York City from Niagara Falls, according to state police reports. The bus is said to have overturned due to unknown reasons, resulting in injuries for several individuals.

New York State Police spokesperson James O’Callaghan confirmed at a press conference that multiple people were trapped within the bus and others were ejected during the incident. Rescue efforts are ongoing at the crash site, with numerous operations still underway.

The accident took place on Interstate 90 eastbound near Pembroke, east of Buffalo, New York, as reported by state police in a statement.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul described the incident as “tragic” and expressed that first responders are making every effort to rescue and offer assistance to all parties involved, as stated on her social media platform X.

As a result of the crash, the New York Thruway has been closed in both directions near the accident site, according to state police.
