Lil Nas X Arrested and Charged with Felonies After Allegedly Assaulting Police While Walking Naked in LA

On Monday, musician Montero Lamar Hill, professionally known as Lil Nas X, faced four felony charges after allegedly charging at law enforcement officers during an incident in Los Angeles last week.

The District Attorney’s Office reported that Hill was charged with three counts of battery causing injury to a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer. Initially detained on suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing an officer on Friday, he is scheduled for arraignment later today. His representatives have yet to provide comment.

According to authorities, the 26-year-old entertainer was found walking naked on Ventura Boulevard, a significant roadway in Studio City, around 5:45 a.m. last Friday. Officers claim he approached them aggressively when confronted and was subsequently arrested. Due to concerns over a potential drug overdose, medical professionals evaluated him at a hospital for several hours before transferring him to police custody, where he has since remained.

The news of these charges was initially reported by TMZ.

Best recognized for his chart-topping song “Old Town Road” from 2018, which seamlessly blended country and hip-hop genres, Lil Nas X spent a record-breaking 19 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Known for pushing musical boundaries with his groundbreaking sounds and style, his debut full studio album, “Montero,” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard album chart in 2021 and was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Album of the Year.
