Breaking: Attorney General Pam Bondi Orders Grand Jury Investigation into Alleged Obama Administration Intelligence Manufacturing over 2016 Election Interference
The Attorney General, Pam Bondi, has instructed federal prosecutors to initiate a grand jury investigation into allegations that members of the previous administration fabricated intelligence regarding Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections. A source privy to the matter disclosed this information to CNN.
A grand jury is authorized to issue subpoenas during the course of a criminal investigation, focusing on renewed claims that Democratic officials attempted to tarnish Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign by falsely accusing his campaign of colluding with the Russian government. Should the Justice Department decide to pursue a criminal case, it could also consider an indictment.
This decision follows a referral from Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, who declassified documents in July that she claims contradict the Obama administration’s assertion that Russia aimed to aid Trump over Hillary Clinton.
Gabbard has requested the Justice Department to investigate former President Barack Obama and key officials within his administration for an alleged conspiracy.
Shortly after Gabbard’s referral, Bondi announced the formation of a “strike force” by the DOJ to evaluate the evidence presented by Gabbard and explore potential subsequent legal actions arising from DNI Gabbard’s disclosures.
The Justice Department has declined to comment on this matter. Fox News first reported Bondi’s grand jury request.
