Delta Plane Clips Empty Jet at Atlanta Airport; No Injuries Reported Before Reboarding

A Delta AirLines aircraft destined for Guatemala City encountered an incident during its pushback from the gate at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport this morning. As reported by the airline, the wing of flight DL1830 allegedly collided with an empty Delta jet.

According to a spokesperson for the airline, this incident occurred during the process of pushing back from the gate.

Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries among the 192 passengers and six crew members on board.

The flight, initially scheduled to depart at approximately 10 a.m. local time Sunday morning, was rescheduled after the incident. The passengers were subsequently reboarded onto a replacement plane, which took off from Atlanta around 2 p.m., as per FlightAware data.

Attempts have been made to reach out to the Federal Aviation Administration and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for comment on this matter.

This recent incident transpired approximately two weeks following a turbulence event that occurred aboard a Delta flight en route from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam, resulting in an emergency landing in Minnesota and hospitalization for 25 passengers on board.
