Bullet Fired into Kansas City Chiefs Coach Andy Reid’s Office: Unreported Incident at Championship-Winning Team’s Facility
In an unexpected turn of events last spring, a bullet pierced through the office of Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid at their practice facility. According to multiple reliable sources reported by The Kansas City Star on Wednesday, this incident unfolded while Reid was present in his office, situated in early May 2024.
The stray bullet, originating from outside the building, shattered the glass windows and blinds before lodging itself in a wall partitioning Reid’s bathroom and the entrance to his office. In response to this incident, the team promptly installed bulletproof glass.
Further investigations revealed that two additional bullets struck the facility, with one impacting the third floor and another damaging an outdoor air-conditioning unit. Few individuals within the organization were aware of this incident.
Upon request for comment, a Chiefs spokesman remained silent on the matter late Wednesday night when approached by the Associated Press.
This alarming event took place mere months after Reid guided the Chiefs to a repeat Super Bowl victory and their third title in five years. The team secured the AFC championship once more last season but ultimately fell short against Philadelphia.
Throughout his 12-season tenure with the Chiefs and 14 seasons with the Eagles, Reid has amassed an impressive 273-146-1 win record, securing him the fourth position on the NFL’s all-time wins list, trailing behind Don Shula, George Halas, and Bill Belichick.
