Jessie J Postpones Tour Due to Second Breast Cancer Surgery – Singer Promises a Return After Healing
Pop sensation Jessie J has revealed that she will undergo a second surgery following her breast cancer diagnosis, leading to the postponement of her upcoming tour.
In an Instagram video posted on Thursday, the 37-year-old artist explained, “Unfortunately, I need another surgery before the end of this year, which coincides with my scheduled tour. As a result, I must reschedule my planned concerts in the UK, Europe, and the USA.”
Jessie J (born Jessica Ellen Cornish) disclosed her initial diagnosis of early-stage breast cancer in June. Following her first surgery later that month, she announced via social media in July that she was “ok” and had no further cancerous cells detected.
While details about the upcoming procedure remain unspecified, the singer previously mentioned needing additional surgery to achieve a more symmetrical appearance following her mastectomy.
Expressing frustration and sadness about the situation, Jessie J stated, “I’m living in the moment, I’m embracing the moment, and I’m rolling with the punches… I need to be better, I need to be healed, and I know this is the right decision to make.”
The European leg of her tour has been rescheduled from October 2023 to April 2026, but the American leg, initially scheduled for November, is currently on hold due to the unavailability of a suitable timeslot that aligns with the preferred venues.
“Please bear with us regarding the US tour,” she appealed. “I’m eager to perform, but when the time is right, we will make it happen… It might be a little later in the year, or even earlier—we’re still figuring that out.”
Jessie J expressed her apologies for any inconvenience caused and acknowledged that this news was likely expected given her previous announcement.
